About Us
Mad World started in 2001. We partner with independent communications consultants who have had direct experience working in business, government and the voluntary sector and have first hand experience of managing public relations, issues management and crises.
We operate directly in New Zealand and Australia but through our strategic partnerships provide services to clients in Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Our clients include some of New Zealand 's leading brands, local and national government departments as well as industry associations such as the Packaging Council of New Zealand, the New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Glass Packaging Forum.
Lyn had 18 years experience working in industry before setting up her own consultancy.
She was Director Corporate Communications for Kimberly-Clark Europe, Middle East & Africa where she had responsibility for managing public affairs, media relations, issues and crisis management and internal communications.
Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark in 1999, Lyn spent 13 years with logistics service provider BOC Distribution Services, part of global gases company The BOC Group, starting her career as manager of a temperature controlled distribution centre for a leading UK retailer, moving into business development and acquisitions and culminating in her role as Marketing and Communications Controller.
Lyn studied French and German at Trinity College Oxford before joining GUSCO, one of the UK's largest mail order companies, as a line manager in 1984. Lyn has experience of handling public relations and issues management for multi-national and domestic businesses spanning the food and drinks industry, manufacturing, personal care and household products, supply chain and logistics and health-care.
We often get asked why we're called Mad World - we all know that issues management shows us daily what a mad world we live in but it has particular relevance because Lyn moved with her family to New Zealand on 9/11.
